2nd ANNUAL NFPA GOLF TOURNAMENT HELD ON BEHALF OF THE
BRENDAN GRANT FOUNDATION
Event held at the Rockland Golf Course, Rockland, MA
on Sunday Afternoon, 15 September 2002

Rockland, MA -- The 2nd Annual NFPA Golf Tournament was held on Sunday
afternoon, 15 September 2002, on behalf of The Brendan Grant Foundation at the Rockland
Golf Course in Rockland, MA. The entire event was a great success, with lots of
smiles and lots of fun.
A cookout with
prizes immediately followed the 18 holes of golf. Although the forecast was for
(possibly) heavy rain, it never appeared and a great day of golf was had by all. It
was a warm afternoon though never hot,
and was a perfect afternoon to be out on the links. The format was a best ball
scramble, with prizes given for the the best foursome, and closest to the pin on several
of the shorter holes. This is a par 3 course, although some of the holes seem to be
a very challenging par 3.
The following are the results of each of the eleven teams that had
entered:
1 Team #8 +2
Bruce Mullen, Jim Tuominen, Bill Gibson, Brian Bishop
2 Team #2 +3 Robert Solomon,

All proceeds from
this event go to benefit the Brendan Grant Foundation, and once all numbers were tallied,
the event raised a grand total of $5,641.50! There were all kinds of great
prizes, but golf team #11 may have out-done everyone else with some of the better prizes,
with Bob McCarthy winning the Patriots tickets, Joe Molis winning the Bruins tickets, and
John Baldi winning the Celtics tickets.
The extensive work put in by all the volunteers who organized and ran
this event is, of course greatly appreciated. Through their hard work and dedicated
effort, and with the cooperation of the weather, the tournament was a wonderful success.
It was all smiles, and a great day of fun for all!
