Sunday, 12 September 2004: The
4th Annual NFPA Golf Tournament was held on Sunday morning, 12 September,
at the Southers Marsh Golf Course in Plymouth, MA, and was a great
success. If you've never seen it, Southers Marsh is a magnificently
designed course, with fields of purple cranberry bogs artfully woven
through the lush green links. Get

Saturday, 21 August 2004:
An annual sportsmanship honor and ceremony in recognition of
Brendan Grant was presented by Babe Ruth
League, Inc at the conclusion of the 2004 Senior Babe Ruth 16-18 year old
World Series in Newark, Ohio. Click
here for the full story. This year the 2005 recipients were Colin Wernecke of Tri-County
Texas for the American Division, and Josh Parrish of Newark Ohio for the National Division.

Thursday, 19 August 2004:
The 11th Annual Fleet Boston Old Time Baseball Game was held at St.
Peter's Field on Sherman Street in North Cambridge, MA before one of the
largest crowds in recent memory. This year the proceeds went to the
Cancer Treatment Center at Mt. Auburn Hospital.
Each year a player from Belmont participates in the game on Brendan's
behalf, and this year it was Billy
Watkins of Belmont. Click here for the full

Sunday, 20 June 2004: The Third Annual "Brendan's
Home RunTM" 5K Race & Walk was held in Belmont, MA
on Father's Day 2004, and the event had a great turn-out with great
weather. Click
here for the full story on this year's successful event. The walk started promptly at
9:30 am, and the runners began at 10:00 am. Those who
participated will tell you this is a great flat course for the runners and
is good for fast times, which loops back on itself and allows the walkers to cheer on the
runners. The course has recently been measured and
certified by the USA Track & Field Road Running Technical Council
(Certification Code: MA03028RN©), and this helped attract an excellent
crowd. The story

28 May 2004: The third
annual Brendan Grant Scholarships were awarded at the Senior Assembly at
Belmont High School, Belmont, MA. This year's scholarship recipients
are Christopher
Barber and Elizabeth

19-22 April 2004: The Marauders Spring Vacation Camp
was held during school vacation week at the Belmont High School
Varsity Field from 9:00 am to noon on Monday, 19 April through Thursday,
22 April. This baseball clinic was geared for youngsters age 5
through 13, and was run by the Belmont Baseball Association while being co-sponsored by the Belmont Recreation Department and The Brendan
Grant Foundation.
16 March through 13 May 2004: An 8 session Wrestling Clinic for youth
in grades K through 8 was held at the Butler School in
Belmont, MA. This
program is supported by the Friends of Belmont Wrestling and The Brendan
Grant Foundation, and it was run by the coaches and supporters of the
Belmont High School wrestling team. The clinics are held in the
Butler School Gymnasium from 5:20 pm to 6:20 pm, on Tuesday for grades 5-8
and on Thursday for grades K-4. The 5-8 clinic is March 16, 23, 30,
April 6, 13, 27, May 4 and 11. The K-4 clinic is March 18, 25, April
1, 8, 15, 29, May 6, and 13. Brendan was a captain of the
team in 2000 when he was a senior, and the Belmont Invitational Wrestling
Tournament (that is now in its 24th year) has been renamed in his

Sunday, 7 March 2004: The Second Annual Brendan Grant Foundation Ski/Snowboard
Race was held at Tenney Mountain in Plymouth,
NH under sunny skies and warm spring temperatures. Click

Saturday, 3 January 2004: The Third Annual "Brendan Grant Wrestling
Tournament" was held at Belmont High School all day on Saturday
3 January 2004. Click
here for the full story. Previously
referred to as the Belmont Invitational Wrestling Tournament, this event has been one of the premier High School Wrestling gatherings of its kind in the
Northeast region for the last 23 years. Brendan was a devoted member of the Tournament's host
wrestling squad during all four of his high school years, and during the 1999-2000 season
he was one of the team captains.
