Sunday, 24 September 2006: The
5th Annual NFPA Golf Tournament was held on Sunday 24 September at the
Southers Marsh Golf Course in Plymouth, MA. The format was
Florida Best Ball, and the proceeds went to support the worthy causes of
the Brendan Grant Foundation. If you've never seen it, Southers
Marsh is a magnificently designed course, with fields of purple cranberry
bogs artfully woven through the lush green links. Click

Thursday, 24 August 2006: The
13th Annual Bank of America Old Time Baseball Game was held at St. Peter's
Field on Sherman Street in North Cambridge, MA under clear but cool summer
skies. Each year a player from Belmont participates in the game on
Brendan's behalf, and this year it was returning Belmont player Billy
Watkins who is now ay Franklin Pierce College. The proceeds from the
event go to a charitable cause that rotates each year, and this year it
was for the"C2 Mission: A Mission of Hope", to benefit the
children and families affected by Cerebral Palsy and Cystic Fibrosis in
the New England area. Further information on the event is available on the

games. The 2001 game included a special ceremony that was held
in Brendan's honor, and included his picture
being featured on the 2001 program cover, and a short write-up
within the game program.
Sunday, 18 June 2006: The
course record was broken at the Fifth Annual "Brendan's Home
RunTM" 5K Race & Walk held on Father's Day 2006 in Belmont,
MA. Click
here for photos and the full story. A large number of runners and walkers participated in the
blistering heat of a sunny June day. Those who've participated in
previous years will tell you this is a great flat course for the runners
that yields good fast times, and this year the course record was smashed
by Dan Vassallo of Wilmington, MA who ran the course in 15 minutes and 59
seconds. Race
results are also available by clicking here. The course loops back on itself and allows the walkers to
cheer on the runners as they pass them by. The course
is certified by the USA Track & Field Road Running Technical Council
(Certification Code: MA03028RN©).
Saturday-Sunday, 27-28 May 2006: The Second Annual Brendan Grant Memorial Baseball Tournament
was held on
Memorial Day weekend at the Brendan Grant Memorial Field. Click

event featured a return of the high school varsity teams from Bedford,
Belmont, Lynnfield and Winchester. Lynnfield brought home the
championship trophy in an 11 to 3 win against Belmont, and Winchester won
the consolation game against Bedford. Click

Friday 26 May 2006: The
fifth annual Brendan Grant Scholarships were awarded at the Senior
Assembly at Belmont High School, Belmont, MA. This year's 2006
scholarship recipients were Kelly Coates and Martin Connolly. Click

Saturday, 18 March 2006: The
Fourth Annual "Brendan Grant
Foundation Ski/Snowboard Race" was held on Saturday 18 March
2006 at Tenney
Mountain in Plymouth NH. Click

26/Feb, 5/Mar, 12/Mar & 19 March 2006:
The Marauders Baseball Camp for boys and girls ages 5 to
13 was held on four consecutive Sundays at the Belmont High School
Field House from 26 February to 19 March 2006 to help young ball players
sharpen their baseball skills. This camp is approaching its second
full decade of service to the youth of Belmont , and it's co-sponsored by
the Belmont Recreation Department and The Brendan Grant Foundation.
The Belmont High School Baseball team helps run the camp, and proceeds go
to the help defray their assorted costs.
Saturday, 7 January 2006: The Fifth Annual Brendan Grant Wrestling
Tournament was held at Belmont High School on Saturday 7 January 2006.

here for more details and pictures. This year, thirteen high school wrestling teams competed during this all day tournament. Previously
referred to as the Belmont Invitational Wrestling Tournament, this event has for the last
25 years been one of the premier High School Wrestling gatherings of its kind in the
Northeast region. During the 1999-2000 season, Brendan was one of the Captains
of the Belmont High School Wrestling Team.
