The following are excerpts from a December 2000 college English paper at American International College, where Brendan reflected upon the concept of being a hero and eternal life:

". . . When I think of a hero or heroine, I think of someone whom I admire and respect, so strongly that they’ve carved a permanent place in my heart. To be a hero, one must do something to go above and beyond the normal call of duty. Hero’s are not celebrities or professional athletes, but people whom do what they do for the goodness of others."

". . . I personally believe in life after death, and have always had dreams of meeting up with my family and close friends when I get to wherever I end up. Hopefully I can experience the feeling of being a hero, and also have the chance to be reunited with all my loved ones after I expire."
