A funeral Mass will be said today for Brendan Peter Anthony Grant, a student at
American International College in Springfield.
He died of cardiac arrest Wednesday after colliding with another outfielder during a
Babe Ruth League baseball game in Belmont. He was 18.
Born in Boston, he was a lifelong resident of Belmont. He graduated from Belmont High
School last year and was captain of the baseball and wrestling teams.
He leaves his parents, Casey and Cathy (Geary) Grant of Belmont; two sisters, Lyndsey
and Shannon of Belmont; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Arlene (Bucci) Geary of
Belmont; and his paternal grandparents, John and Yvonne (Pratt) Grant of Chelmsford.
The funeral Mass will be said at 9 a.m. in St. Luke Church in Belmont. Burial will be
in St. Patrick Cemetery in Watertown.
