Baseball Statistics
Brendan excelled at baseball, as his statistics ably demonstrate. For example,
below are his statistics for the 2000 Summer Senior Babe Ruth Season for Belmont,
Massachusetts, prior to heading off to play college baseball.
As seen below, during the 2000 summer season of 16 games Brendan batted .456 and helped
lead the team deep into the playoffs. Most noteworthy were the five additional games
that he played (on 15/Jul, 21/Jul, and 22/Jul) for the Middlesex League South All-Stars.
Here he batted .538 with 19 runs batted in.
Brendan had a significant number of memorable hits in his brief career, as exemplified
by one that occurred during this stint while playing for the Middlesex League South
All-Stars. At his first at bat while playing in the 21/July/2000 game at O'Donnell
Field (at Harvard University), Brendan hit a home run over the flag pole and tall bushes
in dead center field. The fence is marked at 415 feet and this shot was estimated at
440 plus feet, and was a good indication of Brendan's significant power.
